Tower Challenge - We did it

Image
This weeks challenge was to build a tower made of lego or blocks. It had to 1 meter high and hold a can of Spaghetti. After days of trying, we finally did it! We had to show our Learning Power of Persist in order to achieve this. We were so nervous as we put the tin on top, it was a bit wobbly but it held in the end. Well done Mackenzie, Mason, Aaleiyah and Kelicia, top effort team!

Popcorn - Planning our writing

Image
Mrs Signal's writing groups did a rich language experience on Wednesday. We tasted sweet and salty popcorn. We looked at words to describe the Look, Smell, Feel and Taste of Popcorn. Ben said, "It looks explosive and messy ". He also said, "It feels so light I could hold it on my pinky". These are great WOW words. Mackenzie and Izeiah said, "It feels breakable , light and bumpy . It feels slippery in my mouth".

Bridge Challenge - Maths Rotation

Image
This week Mrs Signal gave us a challenge - We were allowed to use blocks, Lego or any maths equipment to construct a bridge that goes from one side of the river to the other and is strong enough to hold a tin of Spaghetti. Some of the bridges didn't make it, but we're not giving up! We need to think about the materials we use and the support underneath.

Our construction room - check out how busy we've been.
