Tower Challenge - We did it

This weeks challenge was to build a tower made of lego or blocks. It had to 1 meter high and hold a can of Spaghetti. After days of trying, we finally did it! We had to show our Learning Power of Persist in order to achieve this.

 We were so nervous as we put the tin on top, it was a bit wobbly but it held in the end.

 Well done Mackenzie, Mason, Aaleiyah and Kelicia, top effort team!

    Great persistence and team work. You have done some pretty clever stacking at the bottom of the tower to help get the height! Tino pai o koutou mahi!

Jeff (SUPER CASH-TASH-TIC!!) from ASB GETWISE came to help us learn a bit about money

We learnt about money money that is shaped like a rectangle is a note, it is called dollars money that is shaped like a circle, are mainly cents .....but not all of them....... We put the money into order from the smallest amount to biggest amount (it's not all about size either)        Is it a NEED or a WANT? We looked at pictures of things like water, fruit and veges, fizzy drink, chocolate, bikes, computer and discussed if they were a need or a want Jeff taught us to remember  "speed to a need and wait for a want" If he showed us a picture of a NEED we ran on the spot. Miss Clothier's writing class went outside to play in the leaves.  "I was throwing the leaves in the air with some other kids in Miss Clothier's group." said Brooklyn "When the leaves fell down a little bit went in my t-shirt." said Louie "When it landed in Louie's hair it was hilarious." said Slade "It was funny when the leaves fell on the ground." said Kaiden "When we went to the gardens there was lots of leaves." said Luke & Oliver.
